I also tried a lot many times but could not succeed as was not experienced in this art. Yup, it’s true and I have really seen a small bowl (katori) moving on a paper chart marked with alphabets, numbers and code words.
I tried it in my earlier home when my cousin had come over. We couldn’t succeed as it was the first time for me and even she was an amateur. Before leaving for US, I visited my home. And on the last night before my departure my wish finally came true. My sister, the same cousin and I sat on the floor of a room with only dim lights on. Both of them prepared the chart and three of us placed out fingers on a small bowl which was placed in the center of the chart. We let the finger be on the bowl for the entire game. With utmost concentration possible, we were just repeating one line “If there is any good spirit around, please come in this bowl and move this bowl to YES.” After trying hard for about a minute, the bowl moved. We started asking very generic questions like “who we are? “, “does the spirit knows us? “, “Will the spirit like to answer our questions?” etc. If you find that spirit is positive in response then only ask more questions else it would be better to say her good bye. For a check I asked the spirit to tell Kunal’s (KD) birthday and it told it correctly(bhutia Kunal). I asked series of questions after that. In the end when our questions got over we asked more about the spirit and in the end asked her to leave peacefully.
My two other planchette-mates also asked a lot of questions and many of the replies given by the spirit have come true. I am waiting to verify answers to my questions. I will write a detailed description on “How to PLANCHETTE “in my next post.

P.S. I keep wondering that if everything is so predictable in life, are we just puppets in this whole game of life and death?

Trip to Cascade Loop

I wasn’t even out of my Jet lag and it was a long weekend, Monday being a Memorial Day in the U.S. Initially, I planned to join my cousin and his friends for the Yellow Stone National Park trip, but it couldn’t work out for me as they were leaving early on Friday and I had enough work to complete before leaving for the Long Weekend. Later, I joined some of my other friends for the trip to Cascade Loop and had a wonderful time.
We left Seattle around 9 in the morning with all the maps and directions ready in our hand. Raj, Devesh, Rakesh and I were in the same car and Gautam and co in other. Gautam was very much aware of the roads and places so we never had any problems related to them.
Driving on Cascade Loop was like dream come true for a person who loves fast driving. All the cars are at minimum 60 mph (100kmph). Driving at 80 and taking a turn is as if you are swinging and if you reach 100 (160 kmph), you are definitely flying. I was really impressed by the well planned infrastructure. If you enter a freeway, you cannot exit before a mile. AT every mile there is an EXIT point which is properly numbered, so that you can very much predict which EXIT is going to be the next and drive on the right most lanes to take that EXIT. You cannot afford to be at a wrong lane as changing your lane isn’t that easy, especially when the cars behind you are at such a high speed. Though, I did that too and not just once but many a times and luckily there was no police nearby else would have been out of money by now for paying 100 dollars ticket each time .
Cascade Loop is a loop close to Seattle. It covers various places like Wenatchee, Lake Chelan, etc. It is a very big loop may be one has to travel around 1000 miles to cover the whole loop so 2 days weren’t sufficient to do that. First it was Rafting time. About 150 miles from Seattle and 20 miles before Wenatchee town there is a rafting point. Gautam and Tony were sitting in the front and were getting drenched with every small tide coming on us. With such cold water they would have definitely freeze. The instructor was a she with say in close to middle 20s with a beautiful pair of cheeks. No, don’t worry, I didn’t kiss them ;) Along with that she was an excellent guide to us.
The next destination was Leavenworth village. It’s a fake German (Deutsch) village, with good beer, chocolate and ice cream shops. I badly wanted to try out my four years back learnt German on those poor fellows, but couldn’t as it was all an American crowd. There was a live orchestra going on with some people dancing on the street. I like colorful places, especially not the normal American towns and cities which have either sky scrapers or some greenery to fill the places between them. Though, Redmond is a beautiful place, but I find only cars on the roads, no people, not much chit chat and no gol gappe wala on the road side. Leavenworth was with life, so I liked it. We entered an ice cream shop and we could try out various ice creams before actually buying one. I tasted about 5 to 6 exotic ones and finally took the best.
Summers usually have real long days in U.S. I am not aware of the other western countries. Unlike the Asian countries where the days are about half an hour or an hour longer in summers than in winters, the American Summer days are like 3 to 4 hrs longer. Sun sets around 9 p.m. and rises at around 5 a.m. And it is summers in U.S. right now, so we could comfortably roam on the streets and drive on the roads without any night glares till 10 p.m. But, who is going to sleep when you have casinos around you. We went to a casino in Wenatchee town at around 10 p.m. and returned around 3 a.m. I didn’t try out much on gambling as saving my money for Las Vegas casinos . Aditya, quickly sleep... As tomorrow is going to be a Bay Watch Day .

Second day was for Lake Chelan. Wenatchee, a river, pours a part of its water into Lake Chelan. We quickly grabbed some pizzas and went on for some water sports. I usually don’t have to think much while ordering and don’t miss Vidit on these moments as there are hardly one or two options for a veggie on the menu card . SO , do akkad bakad bambay bo and choose your pick. We did Jet skiing. We were the only people in full clothes. Mostly, you can generalize these Americans in two buckets. One, who don’t care for their physique at all and the other who have perfect body and figure, not even a centimeter of fat hanging out. You can flaunt it only when you have it. It was really a bay watch day.
We thought of returning back from Lake Chelan as going further was not that interesting and would have been just driving. It was a good trip and am looking forward to more such trips :)

No track of time

I left Delhi on 21st night and flew to Seattle with a change of flight at Singapore and Los Angeles. Flight was on time. I won’t deny that I was anxious as this was the first time I was stepping out of my country. The security check happened much comfortably than I expected it to be. Reached Singapore around 4 am in the morning .It was about 5:30 am over there. The first impression I got of Singapore was fabulous. If I now compare its airport with the Los Angeles and Tokyo’s, I would still bet on Singapore’s. Airport was huge with wall to wall carpet everywhere. My eyes were feeling odd as they were not finding even a single piece of dirt. As I had only 2 hrs in my hand before boarding my continuing flight to Los Angeles, I didn’t go out of the airport and spent most of the time in the duty-free shops. I could find a lot of Indians both as the travelers and as the staff working at the airport.

Our craft landed in Tokyo for re-fuelling. Tokyo was a mini-replica of Singapore airport with the same carpets and interiors except that it lacked some life in it. Earlier, I was never able to distinguish between Japanese, Chinese and the rest of the chini-minis. But, here I could really notice the flaw-less skin of the Japanese girls and the glow on their jet white skin which really set them apart from the rest of the crowd. They looked like dolls to me. I drank green tea, as there was not much present for a vegetarian. Sorry Vidit, but it was a bad experience. It tasted like some jadi-buti :( . Food wise, I didn’t had problems anywhere. In the plane I asked for Indian Vegetarian and they gave me very much the Indian food.:)

I landed in Los Angeles and by having done with my security checks quickly; I rushed to the domestic airport as I had to catch another flight to Seattle. Los Angeles airport is huge but more of an Indian Airport with a little more strict rules and neat corridors. In the whole journey, I had no track of time. I spent my 30 hrs of travel chatting and gossiping with people around me and also watching some movies. I slept only for about 6 hrs in the entire journey.

It has been a week in Seattle and my most of the time has gone in driving. My car is Ford Taurus. It is not the best car over here, but I find it to be good as I have never driven such a big car. It wasn’t that easy to adjust to the well planned infrastructure and the systematic traffic ;). I see a lot of Indian crowd in office and otherwise, so I don’t feel much out of my own place. Will update you shortly about my visit to the cascade loop 

Greater Hyderabad

I can’t believe it. I am staying in a city with area more than the “Sapnon ki nagri, Mumbai.” Two days back government officially announced the formation of Greater Hyderabad, the second biggest city in India. In terms of Area, it will be behind only to the New Delhi. With the merger of 12 surrounding municipalities and 8 gram panchyats, city is substantially larger both in terms of population and area as compared to the erstwhile Hyderabad. It has increased from 172 sq. km. to 725 sq. km. The municipalities included are L.B. Nagar, Gaddiannaram, Uppal Kalan, Kapra, Alwal, Qutubullapur, Malkajgiri, Kukatpally, Serlingampally, Rajendranagar, Patancheru and Ramachandrapuram. The Gram Panchyats are: Shamshabad, Mamidipalli, Satamarai, Jalapally, Mankhal, Tukkuguda, Sardarnagar and Ravarala. HUDA (Hyderabad urban development Authority) will be replaced by the HMDA (Hyderabad Metro Development Authority).
This is absolutely a right time for the expansion of MMTS in the city before its infrastructure starts crumpling like that of Bangalore and Mumbai. Providing good amenities and facilities in the newly added area will allow the population to disperse from highly herded places. Definitely Hyderabad will be in a much better situation now, even if Telangana is assorted out from Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad is recognized as a Union Territory.

Posting after a long time

I haven’t posted from a long time. But, planning to rejuvenate my almost a numb blog. Life is back to the same square. What next?
My work is going great and having fun with it .I usually do not enjoy doing much of coding but the work items I am going to own are more of design than coding .I have already started working on them and they really give a business flavor to my work , which of course I love .
I have moved in with AC in his new home at Malaysian Township in Kukatpally.
Initially, I was missing my old house as have stayed there for past 10 months, but now all well settled in my new home. The place is becoming more and more beautiful day by day. Our flat on the 9th floor of the building is surrounded by almost nothing but rocks and open land. Awesome view and windy and pleasant nights 
My group in Microsoft is taking us for a family picnic (though, I don’t have a family yet :( ) to Panchagani this weekend. The date was 1st of January 2007, so all the more reasons to freak out .We were 7 people when we left Madhapur and were supposed to pick up one of our friends from Secundarabad. As the way to Bhongiri goes via Secunderabad , it was very much on the way for us . I drove one of my friend’s Pulsar, the new one. As the bike was new, I didn’t drive it at more than 60 kmph, a rare case for me when I am driving my own bike J . We took the Secundarabad - Tarnaka main road and reached Bhongiri via Uppal. The road was excellent so the drive was smooth and the traffic was also manageable for a carefree drive. After covering a stretch of about 80 kms from Madhapur we reached the 12th century made Fort. The fort is built on an isolated gigantic rock. The fort was earlier known as Bhuvanagiri. Climbing the rock was fun and not to be mentioned we stopped twice before reaching the pinnacle. A small and damaged fort had nothing much to show except the panaromic view of the neighboring places which it offered at 500 feet above the ground. Coming down was comparatively very easy and we had nice tea and pakodas while coming back to home. Over all the drive was fun. Hoping for a few more biking trips soon.

Now What??

Out of the 100 ways I thought for achieving success, one is surely closed for me.
The rest 99 are those for which I haven’t thought much, do not know which one to chose and which one to leave.

APBHRANSH

In Hyderabad most of the people spell my name as “ADITHYA” instead of “ADITYA.”
"INDORE" becomes "IN DOOR "
This will be the case for most of the times when you try spelling or pronouncing a word of some other language. Every one knows them, the media hypes them and the controversies surround them. They are the most adulated and followed in some or the other way. All three of them decide the future of the country and its people. What a beautiful combination will it be, if all three of them join hands?
The question is “what will they get?”
It’s a win – win situation for all of them. All of them earn good will on the name of other. There projects are given a high priority in the state. The film star gets more media hype which in turn is beneficial for the politician and industrialist as the film star is acting as a brand ambassador for both of them. His popularity and brand image needs no description. The person, who has been a significant role player in the success of some of the best of the films of Bollywood has been continuously compared and evaluated with the new DON of Hindi Cinema. Shah Rukh Khan , playing the role of Amitabh in the new DON and taking the seat of Amitabh in Kaun Banega Crore Pati -3 gives a clear idea of what’s going on in SRK’s mind. No doubt, Amitabh has a better image and profile as compared to Shah Rukh . With his seniority and wonderful acting with versatility, Big B leaves every one behind and definitely falls in the “League of Elites,” not just in Bollywood but across the Film industry in the world. He is one of those successful people in the Hindi Cinema who has been playing an active role right from 70s to 90s and to the starting of the 21st century.
In the downs of Amitabh’s chequred life in 90s, he saw a dramatic decline in his popularity. If I remember it correctly, after the failure of ABC Corporation, Amitabh’s venture, he again came back with an image of sophisticated and chevalier as an anchor of Kaun Banega Crore Pati. Though, Shah Rukh could not flush out the new DON as big boxoffice hit as the Amitabh’s older DON, his success or failure as a keystone for the KBC-3 is still awaited.

BJN in HYD

BJN Group is a group of restaurants and pubs, holding around 8 to 10 places in Bangalore and 4-5 each in Hyderabad , Pune and Mumbai. Being a person who enjoys eating out a lot and having stayed in Bangalore for about 10 months gave me the opportunity to visit all the restaurants of this group. I loved eating out in all the restaurants of BJN. Sahib Sindh Sultan and Bombay Post were my most favored places amongst all.
All there restaurants are on different theme and the effort they put in in making those themes visible right from waiting for catching your table in the restaurant to paying the bill. The interiors, ambience, dress of waiters, the names of the dishes in the menu card and the music played, all fall in sync with the theme.

Two days back I got the chance to Sahib Sindh Sultan (SSS) in Hyderabad. Now, along with Angeethi and SSS, they have firangi pani (a pub), Indijoe. SSS, firangi pani and Indijoe have recently opened in City Center mall in Banjara Hills.
I had guests last weekend and I took them to SSS. They were all flattered by the ambience . Sahib Sindh Sultan was the name of the first train started by Britishers in India. No doubt, BJN has tried their best giving out all the luxuries possible and have made the ambience perfectly according to the theme. After waiting outside for about 10 minutes we got a table in beautifully made Train inside the restaurant. Train is standing on clearly visible wheels and tracks with pebbles lying between the parallel sides of the track .Train’s interior gives a very rich look of the train and reminds you of the royal-British. (No doubt, that royalness came from money of Indians). It has got small and round fans how we have it in Indian trains and the waiters and attendants are dressed up in Ticket Checkers attire. Service was superb and you don’t have to ask how the food was. It has to be fabulous, it’s BJN you know.

Bombay Post, Bangalore, has been made on Bollywood theme. Angeethi , in Hyderabad , Bangalore and Mumbai is based on Punjabi Dhaba theme .

FROM LAUREL TO HARDY

I can lucidly remember the sports camp in my school during summer holidays of 6th standard. Ahhm.. Ahhm.. for those who know me , Yaa, I really joined a sports camp and for those who have never met me , I am really bad at sports. We had to choose two sports and I chose swimming and skating. Thanks, to this summer camp that I learn at least one sport, swimming. This summer was different as I used to spend my entire day in the school .My diet started soaring and my workouts too. The final day came and the summer camp got over. My diet remained more or less the same but the work outs straight away decreased to null. And, you know the results.
Still, I wasn’t all that fat till I joined the corporate world. In Bangalore, Piyush and I used to get up early morning and go for gym; solid 1.5 hrs of workout. But my coming to Hyderabad brought the workouts to an end. And, you are very much aware of the ramifications J
I have been away from home for past 7 years. Every visit to home used to bring lot of pamper to me and a lot of good food, along with some comments, like “bahut dubla ho gaya hai .. khale khale .. Hostel ka khana to kharab hi hota hai “.Not just my family members but also my neighbors, family friends and relatives used to find a change in me. Immaterial, of my increase or decrease in weight, they always used to find me slimmer then what I was at the time of last home visit. But, surprisingly this visit brought me lot of sarcastic and euphemistically told comments. I can not even rule out a single fellow, whom I met, and he or she has not commented on my health.
I had no other option but to smile at their unwanted comments and had to put up a face with “Yaa, I know that I have put on some weight “attitude.
Never mind, I have again started gymming but am not doing any weight lifting. I promise to reduce my weight by february and come in some good shape till Nitin Bhayya’s marriage. I know that after reading this Kunal is going to ask a treat from me as I have lost a bet to him of loosing 5 kg till Diwali. Instead, I have put on 5 kgs.

Everybody says I am fine

In my total experience of 1.5 years in IT industry, I have worked for 3 companies till now; IBM, Lucent and Microsoft. I joined IBM in July 2005 and left it in December 2005. I was working for a project which was more than 10 year old maintenance project with a very high attrition rate. Not my fault, but the project got scrapped as soon as I left the company. Point to be noted that many people from that project left the company before I did. It didn’t come to me a surprise at all and was not sad for it as I didn’t work for it even a bit.
My second organization, Lucent, gave me a good opportunity to work on a project which was starting right from the design in India Center. I really liked the work and was also trying my best to learn java. But the fate didn’t allow me to stay in Bangalore for a long and I moved to Microsoft, Hyderabad in June, 2006. The Lucent project got scrapped in July 2006.Till this point I was wondering, is it really something in me which makes the projects get scrapped as soon as I leave them ,or may be these people were not able to manage it well without me ..;)
My third place of work, Microsoft. I was again happy working on a product which started from design phase, what we people call as Milestone 0. All the design docs and all were “Made in India”, unlike the other products where most of the components are “Made in USA” except some of the residual maintenance work. I went for Diwali vacation and after a few days again had to go for sick leave for jaundice, as I was really really suffering from jaundice. Till the time I could get back to work, the project got scrapped. Surely; there is some thing to do with me. ;)

Indian Philosophy - 1

This is only for those people who are interested in learning a little about philosophy or in particular Indian Philosophy and culture. Even though , I do not have an in depth idea of Indian philosophy, but would like to share whatever knowledge I possess in this context. Philosophy, as the dictionary.com describes it is “A system of values by which one lives.” has been more or less divided into two sections: eastern and western. The Western philosophy comprises thinking of people like Plato, Descartes, etc. Whereas , the Eastern Philosophy, which comprises teachings of Buddha, Confucious, Ramanuja, Vallabha and off course the one who gave re-birth to Hinduism, The Shankaracharya, etc. Any philosophy eventually becomes a religion or a way of life to live. So, it will be better to understand it with the help of religions.
Every religion what we see is very different from what actually it is; at least I feel it in that way. A religion will not be able to sustain itself for a long time and will be unworthy for a life to be following it, if it doesn’t has a sound philosophical base. This base usually describes how a life should be lead and answers the existence or no – existence of God and many other questions related to the human life. But, to general public this cake is presented with an icing on the top. And some of the times icing is so thick that a person’s appetite never allows him to reach the actual cake.
Many people believe that there can only be three kinds of people: religious , non-religious and agnostics. But, at the same time they say that the people who are religious are the ones who follow one or many Gods. I disagree to them in this regard. In eastern philosophy, a person can be religious and an atheist at the same time. There are a few religions which are one of the most accepted paths of life, like Buddhism, Jainism, etc. and are atheist way of living. As far as my knowledge is concerned a person who attains the salvation or the Nirvana gains the highest post and people worship him not as a God, but as a personality to be adulated or the ultimate form of human being.
Hindus, as we understand it now is the sect of people who follow Hinduism. But, ironically there is no religion called Hinduism. It’s a culture and the name ‘hindu’ was given by the people of Persia to the human race living on right side of the river ‘Sindhu’.
And, what so called Hindus follow is “Sanatan Dharm”. Sanatan Dharm has its origin in Veda. Under this umbrella of Veda, there are lot of sects which have there own teachings, principles and followers .Unlike, other religions, Hinduism or Santana Dharm doesn’t have any prescribed holy book to be followed nor it has some set points which are mandatory for an Hindu to follow, except the fact that most of the Hindus (But, not all) respect Vedas. Islam has Quran, Christianity has Bible, but Hinduism doesn’t have one single book. Veshnavites follow Geeta, Vishnu Puran . Shaivites follow Shiv Puran and so on.
So, it will be unfair to call Hinduism as a religion when it is something different, a culture.
Apart from Hinduism, there are two more religions of Indian origin that have played very important role in the making of India’s tradition and history. They are Buddhism and Jainism. Starting from the earliest time when Santana Dharm took birth, it divided the society into 4 parts. Brahman, Kshatriya , Vaishya and Shudras . Each of them had different responsibilities and roles to play in the society. But, after some time, differences started coming in the society. And then people started moving to various other religions. Birth of Buddha, brought the turmoil in Hinduism and during the Ashoka’s reign, Buddhism replaced Hinduism in the hegemony. It continued till Shankaracharya came. Hinduism got rejuvenated. The fall of Buddhism was not just because of Shankaracharya’s arrival but also as the people started facing the same problem for which they left Hinduism and turned to Buddhism. It was “Brahmanism”.
Logic was always a part of Indian culture. And for a religion to win people’s hearts was not possible without contributing to the Logic and representing your religion above others through Logic. So, what we call Debates and Group Discussions, in today’s modern and western influenced life was part of every day routine for the people of Sindhu. Unlike in western world where iconoclasts were prosecuted, India always provided them a chance to prove their difference in opinions. That is why we can see so many religions flourishing in Indian sub-continent.
I will write the rest of it in the following post.

Change – Part 2

As usual and as expected out of my life, every second brings a new change but this time its really big. I am not just changing the company, which I am used to by now, but also the city. Moving to Microsoft, Hyderabad. The decision was much easier to make then moving from IBM to Lucent. But, I am very sure of one fact that I am going to miss Lucent and its people (specially my close friends) at least for initial time in M$. I had fun over here and enjoyed every bit of my time spent in office. Out of 8 hrs spent in office per day at least 3 hours were funtime. These 3 hrs could be easily divided into anytime coffee breaks (which were not usually breaks from work ;) ) , after lunch softy time in forum, gol-gappe and churmuri time before calling the end of the day and yes the unforgettable, innumerable and pocket-emptying visits to Forum. And yaa , if I am unable to make to Forum for a day then will spend sometime in cafeteria for eating sandwiches. Crossing my fingers for MS. As such people say the environment is good but let’s see how well does it turn out for me. Coming to Hyderabad on 24th June.

The Change

Though it’s not my original, but copied from one of my friend’s signature:
“ Change is the only constant in the world.”
I would like to replace it soon with:
“ Change is the only constant in MY LIFE. ”

Though, my favorite word is “Change”, still its not that easy to digest the changes.Loosing something for gaining something better gives a new excitement in life. Earlier, I booked the tickets once, but as the flight got delayed by three hours, I was unable to travel by it.
It was all not that bad, as much as I was thinking about it. Looking at the crowd entering or rushing inside the craft, it was very much evident that this airline has changed the mentality of common man and has given them the chance to fly. Before this I had only traveled with Jet and IA. The scene used to be pretty decent and well ordered while boarding the craft of Jet or IA, but it was entirely different with Deccan. As, the seats were not pre allocated and it was on the first come first bases for occupying the seats. Every body was rushing into the plane with all sorts of Dhaka – Mukki. I remember the days of my childhood spent in MHOW, where the theaters didn’t have the seat numbers and it was first-come-first-bases for capturing the seat. Actually, one person used to go along with 3-4 bags in his hand and place it on the seats to capture it. Similar, scene got created in the plane and every one was running to get the best seat for him or her. The most interesting part of the whole travel was a beautiful model. Most of the youngsters wanted to sit beside her and it created a big mess. As soon as the light was in the sky, we happily opened our Tiffin boxes and had food like good boys. ;) Over all a wonderful or laughter full experience .

Shiva, Krishna, Jesus all did it.. So, what’s wrong when we do it??

People recite Bhagwad Geeta for continuously 7 days, thinking it’s going to be most auspicious thing to do it on this geo. Yes, even I agree to that, but also keeping in my mind that Geeta contains all the so-called leelas played by Lord Krishna. And also contains the fact that he had 16,800 marriages, rather more than that. Then what’s wrong when a normal man like us goes for the second marriage? Suppose, if I go for even a single leela amongst the several ones He has played , I am sure to enjoy a “Hang till death “ sentence by sweet people whose families are worshipping Krishna from, I don’t know how many generations.

Kunti, mother of all Pandava’s, gave a birth to Karn , who was born from Sun . And we happily say that Kunti had gandharva vivah with Surya but are not ready to accept any of the pre-martial thingi’s in todays world. I remember a debate in my college where one of the professors gave the example of Ram, Sita and Lakshman, saying, “We do have a tradition, which follows the ideologies of such great people”. I just want to ask one question, when we can adulate Ram, why can’t we do it to Krishna ;) Don’t misunderstand me as an atheist. I very much believe in God and you can actually confirm this from the people staying around me.. But along with following other preachings from Him, I would love to follow other obscure ones too ;)
The Da Vinci Code clearly says what’s the Holy Grail is about. I don’t need to say anything. I am not saying they were wrong. I just say that “ then why is it wrong for us?? " ;)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://adityamaheshwari.blogspot.com/2006/03/shiva-krishna-jesus-all-did-it-so.html' title='Shiva, Krishna, Jesus all did it.. As soon as we got down from the Volvo in Mehdipatnam, my eyes was unable to believe what it was seeing. The crowded roads have transformed into classy-looking roads, decorated by the beautiful flowers and lush green grass spreading kilometers on its dividers. Specially, when you are habitual of traveling on 24 hours jammed roads. This looks heaven!!! In the evening when I was driving a bike on those roads it was like dream come true for me.
The investments are bulging in Hyderabad. The newly won FAB City project and coming up of International Airport are good enough to assure the denizens that they are soon going to be residents of one of the most famous place on the globe. In few of the areas, the property rates has aggrandized at an enormous rate. In past one year, the areas, especially the ones in and around Shamshabad, have scene their value increasing by 3 to 4 folds.
Definitely, why won’t an MNC prefer a place like Hyderabad, where there is ample infrastructure to exploit on, than the places, who don’t even have enough infrastructure to make their people and the investors satisfied.

Anecdote 1

Bengal has always been known for its art and literature. Long time back, when India was under British Raj, painting of a very famous painter, Bose was selected for the display in one of the International art exhibition in Munich, Germany and it got selected for the 1st prize also. Mr. Bose received the reward through mail after few days, as the things were definitely not that electronic and fast in those times. Photograph of the award winning painting was also supplemented with the certificate. After looking at the photo of the painting, Mr. Bose replied back to the Art exhibitor official. The content of the mail was:

“ I am very glad and thankful to receive the 1st prize in the exhibition held at your place. But I just wanted to inform you that you judged the painting upside down”

I am fed up

People come to Bangalore and the first thing in their “to-visit” or
“Bangalore-darshan” list is The Great Forum Mall. I don’t know what people want to see in that crowded place especially on the weekends when it becomes another sabji-market.

Somebody please and please ask me, how sickening and boring it can be to visit Forum. Every day two times on all 7 days + watched 3 movies last week. All of them were in PVR, which is also in Forum. The problem is that my office is very close to Forum .So, it’s my duty to visit it at least twice a day on all weekdays. And when I do not intend to see it even from outside on weekends. My dear friends, as they are deprived of this bull –shit privilege, wants to visit this fish market. So , please please .. if u are here in bangalore then pardon me if I don't take u to this wonderful MALL

Second encounter with Plays

My office being stationed very near to Forum, it’s tough or rather impossible to resist myself from freaking out over there at least twice a day. One visit is fixed after lunch and the second one depends on the workload. Being an ex-IBM-er , it doesn’t look nice on my new company’s part to allocate hell lot of work to me . At least, every company owes this much to IBM ;)
Yesterday, in my second visit to Forum we had gol-gappes. Awesome!
Had it after a long time. Such good gol-gappes are definitely rear to get in Bangalore. Followed that by chocolate mousse in fabMall. One of my friends from IBM called me when I was having this videshi stuff after the theth deshi one. Yup, a call for a Play (Hamlet). Plays have always been a rare thing for me to access; so, there was not much for me to think about it except saying a yes. Hurriedly, I left the mall and followed my senior to reach the “Rangashankara”. A place specially made for showing the plays.
The play started with lights, mouths and mobiles off. Every body sitting in the hall were full of expectations and the faces were centered at just and just one place on the stage, where the only spot light was pointing to.And then entered the artisists.
Overall the play was good if not excellent. The script was of off course by “The Shakespeare” and some Hindi dialogues, translated by Harivanshrai Bacchhan.
But there were few things, which I would like to appreciate about the play. The director tried to give one of the most famous English play a touch of Hindi or rather Indian culture. There were a set of people (few) including the person, who played the role of Hamlet, were speaking in Hindi and the rest in English. The blend of the two languages was so perfect that even if a person is comfortable with only one language, will be able to get the whole play without any hassles. When everything including music is going on live and people behaving more natural, how can it be compared to some time old recorded movie with every artificial stunts possible and every second changing makeup? But play director was not happy enough with this. Just like the other directors of our Indian Cinema and Plays specially that of Bollywood, he also went a step further Indianizing the Angrezi things and spoiled the show. He introduced some of the Karnataka folk dancers in it.I don’t know what was the need of them in an English play, which has already been Indianized enough?? Good, that the play was taking place at a decent enough place, else we would have carried some of the rotten eggs and tomatoes with us and thrown at those fancy dress competitors. Being an immitator of Bollywood people, how can he forget to add some sensual, alluring and appealing stuff in the play? After all that is all, which is going to give popularity to his shows ;) There were some of the scenes, not really obscene (though, we wanted one to be there) but sexy enough. And it will be undermining to say that the people didn’t start imagining further then what was displayed, specially when the actions were live ;)
Looking forward to see some other better and sensible plays, which are more to my life than ‘Taxi no 9211’ and ‘Fight Club’.

word cloud

Mine too ...
word cloud from SnapShirts

awesome video

While surfing Sam's blog .. The importance of such advertisements is not in the numbers "5","0(zero)" written boldly along with accentuating "O" followed by two "F"s. But it’s more important to see the obscure letters, written before and after these mammoths; small “UPTO” and a beautiful “*” followed by another statement at the bottom most part of the advertisement, saving the life of the advertiser, “Conditions Applied”. About 15 days back I saw an advertisement, where the advertiser was very much aware of the awareness of customers for these important “upto” and “*”. So, he added one smiley with the last statement. And it appeared something like this:

" Conditions Applied "

As if the advertiser wants to say, “ Dear customer, I know that you are intelligent and aware of the facts hidden behind the sentence Condition Applied, but I can’t stop fooling you!!! “
The 26th January sale of Big Bazaar came with all sorts of crazy things
The sale says something like this:
1) Rs. 25 for 1 kg of raddi (old newspapers)
2) Rs. 200 for 1 kg of fate hue kapde (tiered clothes)
3) Rs. 75 for 1 kg of tute hue bartan (broken utensils)
4) Rs. 15 for 1 kg of utri putrid bottles (used and old bottles)
5) Rs. 100 for 1 kg of fate hue jute (old shoes)
6) Rs. 75 for 1 kg of tuta hua ghar ka furniture ( broken furniture)
7) Rs. 50 for 1 kg of fate hue gaadi ke tyre
8) Rs. 20 for 1 kg of baaki ghar ka ataala (rest of the waste)

And yes, I will not forget to put a “*” after all this. As expected there has to be
“ Conditions Applied” in the end.

Apprehension

Thousands of people are born every day . Many of them exists some of them lives. Life is a journey, which every one embarks on. In the mean time they make dependencies. They make functional dependencies, some of them are direct and others indirect. Imagine two balls held together by a thread. The balls can exist even if the thread connecting them snaps; but what if when the next ball holding the most dominant position for the other and it breaks? The life becomes meaningless and tough to be described or defined. When you have faced ups and downs of life together, bore the hardships together all through the life, how would the loss of such a person make you feel?
When the shoulder of the next person was the only support to your head in worst of the times. When you also did almost everything for that person .You won the world for her. You rejoiced at every smile of her .You fought, you cried, you shouted and you agonized for every pain of hers. It’s definitely tough to depart!!!
Man is so immature. Right from the starting he knows that he is going to depart but still he keeps on getting into the relationships and making his bonds stronger and deeper every day. However intersting that novel may be , the numerous award it would have won, might have been the Best Seller for numerous times. Still , after certain number of pages ,I used to feel sleepy . But this idea changed when I read " Five Point Some one " then " One night @ the call center " and now the latest one " Mediocre But Arrogant " .
I am sure if you belong to youth community of India and have spent some time in hostel you would definitely find atleast some part of the novel writen from your life .For the series of chapters you might feel that everything whats written in that book belongs to your life and suddenly a new chapter arrives which is not altogether related to you. But it has been written so well and the story moves in such an appealing manner that its difficult to stop imagining yourself in the place of the main character of the book. Chetan bhagat and Abbey might have used slangs through out their writing but it definitely makes the story more interesting . While reading some of the chapters in these books specially " Five point some one " and " MBA" , I was jumping on the chair and asking my self again and again .. " Adi why didn't you do all these things .. OR why didn't this thing happened with you OR I wanna go to college again and do all these things .. " If you have read these books and belong to IIIT you can very well understand my fealings.

The Hyperinflation

As the world sees Germany: A nation that caused two most disastrous and economy ruining wars. The Germans have a very strong drive in them to make their country a superpower . Although, their nation does deserve to become one. But , the over enthusiasm in the people results in failures and ultimately leading them into a forlorn position. After the First World War, Germany was forced to sign ‘The Treaty of Versailles’ which marked its defeat. The treaty was of a great humiliation for Germans and finally they had to pay huge amount to the US ,et al. This lead to the most turbulent inflation world has ever seen.
As the Richard Evans says in his book “ The coming of the Third Reach”, the value of Deutsch Mark (German currency) declined at an unthinkable rate.In December 1918, the value of U.S. dollar was just above 4 marks on the exchange in Berlin. But, it became 12 marks in April 1919. And then it reclined at such a bedazzling rate that the value of a dollar became 17,000 marks in Jan 1923; 4,621,000 in Aug and finally crashed to 4,200,000,000,000 marks in December. An unbelievable figure! I know these figures seemed to be cooked up, but the harsh reality is that they are not! Definitely the inflation was terrifying.
Money lost its meaning completely, only things which were left important were the food, shelter and some of the vital needs. Employees, after collecting the their salary, that too in sacks , used to run to the departmental stores for buying out things, fearing that they will become unaffordable in the next few seconds. A small incident will be enough to explain you the abhorrent effects of the hyperinflation: A lady ordered a dish worth marks 5,000 for her meal in a restaurant. After an hour when she finished eating the dish, it was worth 8000 marks. Isn’t that making you insecure? Suppose you happen to have only a small amount in your pocket that can get you a meager meal to fill your stomach and you happily order that small quantity. After eating just a bite of it you realize that now you don’t even have enough money to pay for that bite which you took in your mouth a second before.Exactly, that was the condition of germans at that time.A correspondent of a newspaper reported in 1923 :'In the shops the prices are writen and posted hourly . A gramaphone at 10 a.m. was 5,000,000 marks but at 3 a.m. it was 12,000,000 marks . A copy of Daily mail was sold at 35,000 marks yesterday but at 60,000 marks today.'Whole Reich was in total chaos until a new currency was not issued ,not depending on the global trnsactions but on gold.
It was definitely one of the worst inflations that world has ever seen .

P.S. If you are interested in European history this book is worth reading“ Coming of Third Reich “ by Richard J. Evans.
Thanks Jaya, for introducing me to this book.

In Her Shoes

We went for a movie yesterday, " In Her Shoes" . My class used to be of studious nature . All the students putting their maximum energy into studies . Most of our grumblings for the teachers used to be for marks and if some energy was left to grumble then it used to go against the strict discipline in the school.
Teachers who were boring deserved chalk rains on their head, specially
Ms. Jhandiyal. One character whose every turn towards the black board used to get her atleast 4 to 5 chalks on her head . Since her last name was Jhandiyal," Jhandu Balm " was the best nickname we could accord for. This made her entrance even more interesting . Instead of yelling "Good morning ma'am",as we used to for every other teacher, singing a special song for her, gave us immense pleasure and respect to her ;) The song was

♫ ♪ jhandu balm jhandu balm
peeda hari balm
sardi sardar peeda ko pal mein dur kare
jhandu balm ... jhandu balm .. ♪ ♫

If I remember it correctly, in the mid of sixth standard a new math Teacher came as a replacement for our favourite teacher . Obviously , how could we tolerate him ?Replacing our dearest of all teachers was as if committing the most sinful crime on this earth. It was impossible for us to leave him like that and it was also impossible for him to rescue himself from our pranks. Renaming the teachers was a religious and unavoidable ritual for us , so the great fellow got his new name as " Chuha " and for some of my friends who didn't liked the name thinking it to be lesser appealing cliche' named him " chuchundar".Still things were going fine until the half yearly results were out . And that was the day when chuchundar's most horryfying dreams came true . All of us got very bad marks . Our eyes were burning in anger . Only the water of revenge could extinguishit. And, there we were with a chewing gum ( Pink coloured Frutella !!!) ,as our weapon . Sticking the most enjoyable time pass of that times was the best option we had . Fearing nothing ,we just went ahead with it . Adding to his pains , we continously poured ink from our pens on that little chewing gum , so that it can very well take our message written with that ink to him "You chunchundar, get off from our class". All of us were punished for two days ..
I am really sorry to Mr. Chandru and all the teachers who became victims of our pranks.

mera number kab aayega ??

Most of my cousins are just above my age,but they are married and are happy too :)). Since ,Vajpayee's premiership , right from Hotel's owned by government , worth mearly a crore to the juggernauts like ONGC , BHEL , NTPC worth billions of rupees each has been part of this new agenda of privatization . Yes , it definitely makes sense to make things better . From the state of sarakari and non - performing ,its good to see them turning to the state of very well performing and much more organized than earlier . Specially the selling of the non -performing hotels like Ashok , etc . has been one of the best results. Boom in the sensex , if not fully then atleast a part of it can be attributed to some blue chips of India like ONGC , NTPC and BHEL . The boom from 4000 to 5000sensex points was very much carried by these Indian giants and not by the FDIs . But the question is "how far can this privatization be done ?" . I can not see the parliament being privatized as the people getting over there are not able to make right decissions or are unable to perform .Similarly, it can be said for most of the Courts ,where the right jurisdiction is not done in most of the cases. Does all these things means that we should give them in the hand of private bodies? I do not agree to that atall ... Though , the conditions won't become that seviour atleast for 50 years from now, if not more . But even the privatization of Airports and Railways can not be digested. If this goes on the days are not far when the movers and shakers of Indian economy will own all the roads, water , etc and you will have to pay heavy toll-taxes for every movement you make out of your home . Definitely , no body will tolerate to see an Airport to be renamed as "Ambani's parking place for its Air Crafts" or "Manikchand's place for its exclusive cars" . I might be very strong while commenting on the issue but the crux is that there has to be a limit.

Want a date with GT

This is my dream : to have a date with Porsche Carrera GT . For every sentence I hear, I make two interpretaions .. One is surely related to sex ;) Ooty trip was full of double meaning jokes . I have never seen or heard girls going for such double meaning jokes ever in my life time before . But , yeah I got to see that too this time . For today's lunch , I went for Asfar's B'day party( IBM friend) . We were around 10 people . And I was not allowing any one to speak atall . For every sentence, which was coming out from the mouths of the people sitting on the table, was interpreted in the wrong way by me :)) . It has become ,
" Invention is the mother of necessity ."
Nowdays , most of the things you buy are not necessity for you . A simple mobile phone , without x-tra special features can also do .But , since the marketing stunts are so strong they allure you to buy such stuffs . You opt for such mobiles either to make your life more luxurious and comfortable or to show-off! Most of the latest things which we see in the market are just a result of above quoted line .They are not atall the need of a common man ,but are defintely made one after its launch . A person doesn't see the usability of it and buy the stuff in charisma . This charisma definitely lead us to the way of better life style . But , while improving our life style we forget that this race is endless. There can be no end to the improvements required for making your life as "The Best Life Style ". So , one need to put a limit for it .

Phobia-e'-workless

How wonderful it would have been if we were able to decide how many hours a day should have .And it would have been even more wonderful, if we were able to decide how many hrs we need to stay in office .Now days I am suffering from a new disease called P.E.W. bole to Phobia-e'-workless .This is the kind of disease ,in which a person is workless and do not want to continue his present state for a long time .He is employed but not given much work to pass 8 hrs . And the medicines to get rid of this disease are also special . However, I have found medicines to get rid of this disease. They are blogging , surfing ,chatting and orkuting . And when even these medicines are not helpful ,then I go for some special ones like Forum , Big Bazaar and Globus which some time turnout to be lil expensive, as I have habbit of spending .

I joke with many of my friends that wherever I go , I dissuade people from work .I don't kick them out of the organization but almost no work gets assigned to them . When I was in IBM, almost no one on my project used to work . As soon as I left the company ,their work has inflated so much that they are working for almost 12 hrs a day , which is quite unusual in IBM ;) . In my new organization also we do not have much work to do . Bombay and Delhi are very much used to such kind of destructive talks . But it was some thing new for Bangalore . Every newspaper , TV , Radio , Fm ,etc . were just flashing
the news "15 human killing bombs in the city" striking fear in the hearts of the denizens.
To add to the panic ,the police received an anonymous letter stating that mass killing will soon ensue and important places inlcuding the CM's house will be charred . Within few hours ,the city was under high security . A news spread that IBM building in EGL , intermediate ring road has a bomb . Immediatey , all the emplyees were evacuated ( Lucky people they had half day off :)) ) . People were just wondering whether they will get the chance of celebrating new year's eve or not because all the public places suddenly became vulnerable .

The night passed amidst such anxities and speculations .However, on the next day, it was found that all the terror news was a fake . It was just a rumour and trick which some body has tried with the police. I am sure that it was media's plan." When there is nothing to put in to the headlines section , then create it " is the funda of today's media .
A great business sense , I would say!!!

Another IIIT

New place , new people and the new year's eve . Celebrating my new year's eve with not so known people was fun . But still they were not very strange to me as we all were sharing one thing in common that we all are alumnus of IIIT .They of IIIT calcutta and I of IIIT Hyderabad .Out of the two people whom I knew in the group , one had to back out at the last moment and was unable to join us because of this wonderful " bangalore on fire " rumour . Before joining them I was wondering how will I be able to adjust with so different gang but as soon as I joined them things became pretty normal . Though I wasn't as talkative with them, as I usually am ,but still had fultu fun with them .BC seemed to prevail all through out the trip . Listening to all the wonderful girls hostel - boys hostel gossips were as interesting as ever. Dancing with a frolic attitude on the new year's eve had always been my fantasy , which I could get this time . Overall a good trip

Wish u a Very Happy New Year .

Life of a Bean

Hi , my name is Mr. Bean . People also call me "fali" with love . My birth took place about a week before in a place called faliabad near dilli .From , then I have been enjoying my life under wide open blue sky. With the wind continously blowing , I always wish to fly with it . But , I can't move as my legs are stuck with my father . His name is Mr. Ped . He only takes care of me ,by providing food , water ,etc . But I have my own ambitions in life . I want to become a famous bean in our world . One who is the greenest , biggest and most nutritious . There is one competition called Mr. Bean Universe ... i always wanted to win that competition . But, what can I do these cruel human's do not allow us to live . Yesterday evening, a beautiful girl came near me and started looking at me . I couldn't stop blushing .One second she used to look at me .. the next second I used to see her .. and this continued for about 5 minutes .I thought my first love story in life has begun . My heart had never beaten so fast before,my face was never so full of excitements before , my eyes couldn't stop staring her . I just wanted to touch her once .But the only problem was that what people will say ?A bean in love with a girl , can't be the idea which that can ever digest .Weather became pleasant and wind started blowing and suddenlya song started " Pyaar , kiya to darna kya ".And I also thought .. jab miya biwi raazi to kya karega kaji . She came closer and cloaser and my heart started beating faster and faster . She touched me and plucked me and took me to her home ..I was ready to become a ghar jawaifor her . Just imagining her after marriage ... she will be called as "Mrs. Bean".But who knew that girl will betray me like this . Now , I am also kept along with otherbeans to get cut and fried in a pan along with some papi masala's which will definitelykill me . This brutal girl has played with me . Please come and save me ...

How to eat chana chor garam?

IT professional's dont carry hard cash with them .They always have their pocket full of credit cards , sodexho's and ticket restaurant coupons. . I couldn't stay further and had to leave it for a better option Lucent Technology. When I compare both the organizations I find a vast difference in their style of working and the prevailing enviorenment.Definitely being a technical person I would always prefer to be in Lucent . But still I wouldn't like to ignore the positive points of IBM .

IBM ,huge and, one of the most stable organizations of the world is amongst the dream companies in the western world . But the way they are expanding in India definitely make them less appealing . Attrition rate , specially in the division where I was working was so high that in the strength of 300 people everyday a person was putting up the paper . I feel the sole reason was pay package . IBM is definitely not a pay master ,atleast in India . But , I wanted to move out of the organization because of the work . Outsourcing has definitely become 'THE BUZZ' word of today's Indian economy but when it comes to the quality of work which it provides to India ,is really really poor . Specially the companies like IBM , Microsoft ,CSC and all the other good performing IT industries are concerned , they are outsourcing maximum of the low graded work to India . Definitely a person from good technical background and belonging to one of the prestigious colleges of India would not prefer to join it . But, apart from this there are many positive points which IBM offers and I feel that there are very less number ofcompanies which can offer a similar kind of enviorenment . It makes a person tough and teaches him how the real world works . If a person keeps his eyes and ears open just for 2 months he will atleast learn how the IT business moves globaly . Though , he might not be able to catch upon many of thenew technologies coming into the market but defintely he will be fit for an MBA after a year's stay in IBM . This juggernaut also makes a person fit into itself and learn how to cordinate with the numerous people around him.

Lucent technology , a Bell labs Innovation is a good telecom company .If we count on technical work , its far better than the blue chip . As Lucent has not scored big profit figures in the last few years . It has outsourced maximum of its good work to India . So , a technical person will defintely be happy to work in such an enviorenment .An employee staying in this organization will gets hand on experiences with the latest technologies coming in the telecom field but will learn lesser abt the business.

Sapnon ki Nagri

July 17th ,2005 was the day when I stepped my foot on this land of opportunities.People call it Bangalore and are soon going to call it 'Bangalooru' . Isn't that funny ?But its OK !!!
Bangaloreans , people accustomed to work or pretending to work for the first five days of the week and spending the 2 days of the weekend lavishly forms the group of most urbane' crowd I have ever come across in this nation . True, once you start living with them ,you will definitely feel how different they are from the general public of India .. but after some time when Bangaloreans and Bangalore starts fascinating you . Everything else will start looking indigent infront of them . And you even tend to change , staying with them ;)) People who used to take raam naam at the mear exposure of their eyes to a bottle of Smirnoffor Teacher's before coming to Bangalore would not have been able to resist themselves from going to a pub , if not for drinking then atleast for watching how people of this city spend their weekends. Who will not be allured by such a pleasing weather ? The temperature almost seems to be constant and perfect . I don't feel any difference when I step out of my office as the weather is as pleasing as of an air conditioned room . It was rightly said , that Bangalore is an 'Air Conditioned city' . Getting used to such a good enviorment i am getting spoiled. In the two trips which I have made in the last 2 months it was difficult to bear sunny weather.
But whatever you say , bangalore has its own +ve points .You can crib on its traffic , pollution , cost of living but there is no other place atleast in India , rather currently for the world too , which can be called as " sapnon ki nagri " for I.T.Initially even I used to grumble a lot on every silly issue related to this city and its people but something changed my thinking ... About a month back , when I thought of changing my company within 15 days I had an offer of a very good company . In the process of changing the company I applied to all the possible companies which appeared to be better than IBM. Though I am happy with my current company but still I get the mails regularly stating about the job - offers . I can eqaute this city to Bombay of early 80's and early 90's .People from round the country used to run to Mumbai , to make their future and a similar thing is happening for Bangalore now ...
Life is fast here , as I told you with my previous example .and you get to learn a lot from this place . If you are able to sustain yourself over here and know how to get your things done .. that's it you will be able to sustain at any place you go . Life is a fight initially but definitly it turns to a bliss later . Google Corporation, owner of one of the most popular serach engine , wanted to know ,people from which part of the world uses their Search Engine maximum .So , they made a globe like thing in which light used to come out from a point if Google is getting used from there .And the intensity of the light coming out from that point was directly proportional to the number of google users . This test was done in the day time of US and hence it was night in India . Wonder !!! In the night time also bangalore was the brightest point on the GLOBE :)) I am proud to be associated to a city, which made India shine .

SWEET HOME

After a long time , I went home . It was worth an experience this time .. travelling 1000 kms one way . Every home trip is special but this was even more distinct as I travelled by all the 3 means of transportaion : Plane , Volvo( bus) and train .
When you are the guest of utmost importance .You start feeling the pleasure of heaven .Everybody around you just take your name for the whole day .. suddenly you start feeling that you are one of the most important people on this land . Your breakfast , lunch ,dinner and all the between day munch time goodies are the ones that you have been fancying to eat from past 6 months :)) . Though , you have put on since the time you visited ur home last time . Still , people are concerned about your health and just uttering the same sentence for the wholeday " Adit, you have really slimmed down .. why don't you eat ??" and the next second you will hearanother voice shouting "Don't worry I will bring halwa for adit". I want to ask you one question, " is there any thing else which HEAVEN offers ?" I don't think !!!

Two days passed just in meeting all those people who were part of my day 2 day life ,a long time back . I have been living away from home since 11th . So ,that makes more than 7 years away from home ... gosh!!! But still the same warmth and love can be felt when you are there. Home is home , nothing like it . I belong to a small place called MHOW ( Military Head Quarters of War ), established during British rule ,currently governed by Army ,is a cool place to live . Its a mix of two very different kind of populations . Everybody is proud of his native place , so am I . The majority , localites ( civilians ) are mostly business people , found of eating and partying all-day ( I am avery good example of that ;) ). I love such life . Whereas, army people sticking to their disciplined life . Civilians , conservative and are mostly marwadi's , whereas, army people are mod , rather as mod as any bangalorite. When the young people of both type of inhabitants meetyou can understand how messy it will become . I have been in that messy situation this time ;)) I Would definitely love to get back to such a place and relax atleast twice a year :((

The SEVEN Things

Inspired by Rocky's blog .. I remember , we jested about it for over a week about how ridiculous the plot was: a dragon giving away half of his heart to some one else! But the story of King Kong is not something to be mocked at; Indeed, such an awesome picturization and plot full of breathtaking stunts and graphics can commonly be seen in hollywood movies, but making an immortal love story is an entirely different art altogether. The mighty King Kong ,the hero of our movie acted in many ways like our typical bollywood heroes and still the story appealed to me - a miracle indeed.

The movie, to say the least, was very vivid, not just in its portrayal of gigantic beasts such as the dinosaurs, but also of poisonous slimy insects whose mere sight would make you nauseatic - leave alone their size. Even the cockroach needs a bullet to be shot down !!! The plot unfolds with a passionately crazy movie maker(Jack Black) wanting to make a one of a kind movie. He stumbles upon a map of an uncharted island and instinctively decides to shoot his movie on its mysterious shores. With a half written script and police behind his back, he starts sailing immediately to the "Skull" island with his film crew, who are under the impression that their voyage is to Singapore. Ann ( Naomi Watts ) is an underpaid blonde actress who is chosen as the heroine. As destiny would have it, she is the only girl in the vessel. After a series of foreboding events, circumstances force them to land on skull island against the wishes of the ship's crew. They are taken aback when they find the island inhabited by negroid natives who have been untouched by civilization for several millenia. The natives attack the crew and capture Ann. Ann is offerred as sacrifise to appease a 25 foot tall giant gorilla called Kong. Kong, who feeds on the flesh of local tribal women, finds the blonde and fair-skinned Ann amusing and the story takes an unexpected turn.
Now ,starts the gymnastics . The size of Ann is atleast 100 times smaller than that of King and when this huge ape starts swinging his hands with Ann in his palm , it appeared as if some body is working out in the gym with dumbles :)))
The Kong was jumping around in the island - jungle through out the movie , crossing all the sky touching mountains in two or three leaps . The girl was smart , tried running away from a beast but unfortuantely to more dengerous beasts .In the quest of finding the lost Ann and the ape , the rest of the people enterd an abyssmal zone of danger . Hence, opens up the pandora's box .. every second a new creature was appearing with varied shapes and sizes . I would say dinasours were the best looking creatures rest were apt enough to wake u up for the rest of the night , once they come in your dreams ...
survival of fittest was an attitude of such mammoths , how can a man stay alive in such an enviorenment . Ann , runs away from the King and has to face tougher animals , who were desperate for her life . To her surprise , KK comes and saves her from everybody . This witty girl managed to impress KK with her acts and the ape was in love .

The way the movie is directed was awesome .. Those who like surprises in life ; this island would be a best choice for them for honeymoon . Hope they will be able to sleep for atleast one night together . rest will definitely be with some crazy looking animals, until u r alive . Director , Peter Jackson , has done everything in astonishing , amazing and marvellous manner . The role of the crazy movie maker is awesome . He is portrayed as a self -cenetered person . Still , shooting for the movies when ten's of man-eating mammals standing infront of him .. Daring !!Rather , i would call this as passion . A passion for doing something in life . Similar passion I saw in Kong for saving Ann every moment when he was with her . Finally , this ape was brought to the city of New York . Even in his last times when he is imbrued with the continuous firing , not caring about any thing , is still concern about safety of Ann .
